Wooden Fire Doors

Wooden Fire Doors – China Manufacturer

Wooden Fire Doors

Solid timber-framed fire doors with fire-resistant mineral wool core. FD30 and FD60 ratings. Certified to GB 17267, BS 476 and BS EN 1634-1. Available with natural wood veneer for architectural interiors.

Product Overview

Hongli wooden fire doors combine the warmth and finish quality of natural timber with certified fire resistance. The door leaf is constructed with a solid timber or engineered-wood frame and stiles, infilled with a fire-resistant mineral wool batt core. The face is finished with your choice of natural wood veneer, high-pressure laminate (HPL), or paint-grade MDF – all maintaining the tested FD30 or FD60 fire rating.

Wooden fire doors are the preferred specification wherever fire-code compliance must coexist with interior design requirements: hotels, schools, healthcare facilities, offices, and residential apartment buildings. They look and feel like standard interior timber doors but are manufactured and certified as fire-rated assemblies.

Why Specify Wooden Fire Doors?

Architects and interior designers specify timber fire doors when the building code requires fire resistance but the design scheme calls for a natural, warm aesthetic. Key advantages over steel fire doors in these applications:

  • Aesthetic versatility: Matches any interior timber joinery scheme – skirting boards, frames, furniture
  • Acoustic performance: Mineral wool core provides good sound attenuation alongside fire resistance
  • Tactile quality: Natural wood face provides the feel expected in premium hospitality and residential settings
  • Lightweight: Significantly lighter than equivalent steel doors – reduces wear on hinges and closers
  • Custom profiles: Panel profiles can be machined to match existing door sets in a refurbishment

Applications

  • Hotel guestroom and corridor fire doors
  • School and university internal fire doors
  • Healthcare corridor and ward fire doors
  • Office suite fire doors
  • Residential apartment building corridor doors
  • Retail and commercial space fire compartment doors

Frequently Asked Questions – Wooden Fire Doors

Can wooden fire doors achieve FD90 or FD120 ratings?

Yes. Our timber fire doors are tested and certified across the full FD30–FD120 range under BS 476 and EN 1634. Higher ratings (FD90 and FD120) are achieved through a heavier engineered core, additional intumescent layers, and reinforced LVL stiles, while preserving the natural wood veneer finish. Specify the required rating in your enquiry and we will confirm the matching leaf thickness, hardware set, and test evidence.

We can closely match veneer species, grain orientation, finish tone, and panel profile to existing joinery. For refurbishment projects, please provide a sample door or detailed specifications so we can select the closest-matching veneer and profile. We regularly supply doors for hotel refurbishments where matching existing sets is a key requirement.

Standard wooden fire doors are not suitable for wet rooms or areas with sustained high humidity. For bathrooms and wet areas requiring a fire door, we recommend a moisture-resistant HPL face with sealed edges, or our steel fire door range. Please specify the installation environment when requesting a quotation.

Yes. We supply complete door sets including a matching solid timber frame. A steel sub-frame (planted inside the timber frame) is also available for improved structural performance in high-traffic locations. The complete frame and door set is part of the tested and certified assembly.
