Glazed Fire Doors

Glazed Fire Doors – China Manufacturer

Glazed Fire Doors

Fireproof glazed fire door assemblies certified to BS EN 1634-1, BS 476. Fire ratings from FD30 to FD120. Single and double leaf. Factory-direct supply from China.

Product Overview

Hongli glazed fire doors are manufactured with timber or steel frames and certified fire-rated glazing, combining unobstructed sightlines with full fire resistance. Each leaf is precision-machined, assembled with intumescent seals and glazing beads under controlled factory conditions, and finished with natural wood veneer or powder-coated steel to suit the project specification.

Glazed fire doors are the specification choice for offices, hotels, schools, hospitals, lobbies, and corridors – anywhere natural light, visibility, and certified fire performance need to work together in a single, fully-rated opening assembly.

Fire Rating Options Explained

The FD/FDS (Fire & Minute) rating indicates how long the door assembly will resist the passage of fire and hot gases under standardised test conditions. Higher ratings are required in higher-risk or larger buildings:

  • FD30 (30-minute fire door): Minimum requirement in most residential codes. Used in low-rise residential, small commercial buildings.
  • FD60 (60-minute fire door): Widely specified for commercial buildings, hotels, and public facilities. The most common specification in international projects.
  • FD90 (90-minute fire door): Required in high-rise buildings, hospitals, schools, and locations where evacuation time must be extended.
  • FD120 (120-minute fire door): Maximum standard rating. Required in critical infrastructure, large warehouses, and high-hazard industrial facilities.

Your local fire engineer or building code will specify the required rating for each opening. Hongli Firedoor can supply all four ratings from the same factory and provide full documentation for building approval submissions.

Applications

  • Hospital corridors and ward doors needing visual supervision
  • School and university classroom doors with fire compartmentation
  • Hotel lobbies and conference room entrances
  • Shopping mall and retail storefront fire doors
  • Airport terminals and transit station fire barriers
  • Atrium and lobby smoke control doors with glazed sightlines

Frequently Asked Questions – Glazed Fire Doors

What is the difference between an FD60 and an FD90 glazed fire door?

Both use fire-rated glass set into a tested steel or timber frame system, but the FD90 specifies thicker multi-laminated intumescent glass (typically 23–27 mm) and a heavier frame profile to achieve an additional 30 minutes of integrity and insulation (90 minutes total vs. 60 minutes). The FD90 glazed leaf is noticeably heavier and may require reinforced hinges. Both are certified to GB 12955-2022 and CE EN 16034 with EN 1364-1 glazing test evidence. The required rating for your project will be specified in your local fire engineering report or building code.

Yes. We supply doors with fire-rated glass ranging from small vision lites to full-height full-width glazed leaves (up to the tested maximum size for the specified rating). Options include wired glass, ceramic glass, and clear multi-laminated intumescent glass. The glass, gaskets, and beading are all part of the tested and certified assembly. Specify the required panel size and fire rating when requesting a quotation.

Standard glazed fire doors are designed for interior compartmentation. For covered exterior openings we offer weather-sealed frames with galvanised or hot-dip zinc treatment, and the fire-rated glass can be upgraded with a UV-stable laminated outer pane to prevent yellowing. Fully exposed exterior installations are not recommended without a canopy. Specify your installation environment when ordering and we will recommend the appropriate build-up.

Yes. We supply glazed fire doors with tested panic/emergency exit hardware (touch bar and cross bar designs) mounted on reinforced stiles that do not interrupt the glazed area. The complete assembly – door, frame, fire-rated glass, hinges, panic bar, and closer – is tested and certified as a unit, maintaining the full fire rating. Please indicate emergency exit requirements in your enquiry.

Standard documentation includes: fire test report covering the glazed assembly (GB/T 7633 or EN 1634-1), glass certification (EN 1363-1 / EN 12150), Declaration of Performance (DoP), product data sheet, installation manual, and packing list. For CE export orders, we provide the CE declaration. Third-party inspection reports (SGS, BV, etc.) are available at additional cost.
