Why Hardware Certification Matters

A fire door is only as effective as its complete assembly. Fitting non-certified or incompatible hardware – even a single uncertified hinge – can void the entire door assembly’s fire rating and create a legal liability for the building owner and installer.

All Hongli Firedoor hardware is tested as part of our certified door assemblies. When you order an Hongli door set, all hardware supplied is compatible with and part of the tested assembly certificate. We also supply hardware for replacement or for third-party certified door sets – please contact us with the door assembly certificate reference to confirm compatibility.

Fire-Rated Butt Hinges

Supplied as 3-hinge sets (required for fire door assemblies to prevent distortion under heat stress). Stainless steel or satin chrome finish. Ball-bearing pivot for smooth, low-friction operation over the long term. Tested to 100,000 open/close cycles.

Overhead Door Closers

Hydraulic overhead closers with adjustable closing force (EN 2–EN 6) and adjustable latch action. Essential for fire doors – ensures the door closes fully and latches on every use, maintaining the fire seal. Back-check option prevents door damage from slamming. Hold-open arm option available (non-fire-rated; for use with electromagnetic hold-open devices).

Intumescent Smoke Seals

Intumescent seals are fitted to the door leaf or frame rebate and expand when exposed to heat – sealing the gap between leaf and frame to prevent the passage of hot smoke. Critical for maintaining the fire rating. We supply perimeter door seals (all four sides) and threshold drop-down seals for the base of the door.

Mortice Locks & Latches

Fire doors must positively latch on closing – a deadbolt or nightlatch alone is not sufficient. We supply mortice deadbolts with latch (case size to suit door thickness) in keyed-alike batches for large projects. Bathroom/WC turn-and-release variants available. All locks are supplied as part of the tested door assembly.
